A couple of years ago when
I joined educators on Twitter, I jumped into chatting as often as possible.
After awhile, though, I found most chats to be too slow and focused for my ADD
mind. I needed a chat where creativity wasn't stifled by a prescriptive Q&A
format. When the opportunity for #sunchat was born from a Twitter moment posted
by @sjunkins, I dove in head first with an #edcamp mentality and before
long @mssackstein, @JamieArmin and I were co-moderating one of the most popular
educator-driven chats on Twitter.
Each week, the three of us
either discuss via DM or solicit chat ideas from Twitter and then post the
week's theme. On Sunday mornings, our co-mod duties are really nothing more
involved than welcoming folks to the chat. The rest is up to those who enjoy
#sunchat any particular week.
The rules are simple. No fuss, no muss, no particular protocol except to be creative and have fun, #sunchat is a great place to start for new chatters and older ones like myself as well.
Please join us Sunday
mornings at 8 CST! #sunchat
FYI: Right after I wrote this blog post and few days before I published it, it was announced #sunchat had been nominated for a BAMMY. So, thank you, thank you, thank you! :)
